WBAA Board Meeting in Podgorica, Montenegro
At the 3rd WBAA Board Meeting, held on 14 September 2024, in Podgorica, Montenegro, the Board reached several important decisions shaping the future of the association. A key highlight was the resolution to officially submit a request for WBAA to become a member of the European Student Alumni Association (ESAA), reinforcing its commitment to fostering international partnerships within the European educational landscape.
The Board has decided to maintain the longstanding tradition of holding the WBAA General Assembly (GA) towards the end of March or the beginning of April. The next GA is scheduled to take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking another exciting chapter in WBAA’s annual gatherings, where members and partners unite to shape the future of the association.
Additional topics of discussion included an in-depth review of the WBAA website and potential partners to feature on it, underlining the importance of enhancing digital visibility and collaboration.
Moreover, the Board debated on the implementation of a voting system to appoint WBAA representatives for events abroad. The current system for selecting WBAA representatives at outreach events were almost unanimously confirmed. In a forward-thinking decision, the Board agreed that WBAA must progress towards registering as a legal entity and how to involve as many WBAA members as possible in the organisation’s work through future WBAA teams, a crucial step for its future operations and global presence.
These decisions demonstrate WBAA’s commitment to growth, strengthening connections, and enhancing opportunities for its members.
